Service-Learning

"Service, combined with learning, adds value to each and transforms both." - Jane Kendall, National Society for Experiential Education

Welcome to our Service-Learning Web site. We hope that you will find the information and resources here that you need to integrate Service-Learning into your work.

Service-Learning is a curricular approach now found in many K-12 and higher education settings. Service-Learning is a way for our faculty and staff to expand and enhance the ways we serve the people of Wisconsin.

For our colleagues on campuses, Service-Learning is an excellent method of teaching that incorporates real-world experience with lessons learned in the classroom, and has become a mainstay of the UW Colleges' curriculum. The many partnerships in communities created by UW-Extension make this an especially rich time to create new Service-Learning opportunities. We encourage you to reach out to your colleagues to create and develop Service-Learning projects in your community. Together, we can tackle community matters through Service-Learning.

We encourage you to explore this Web site to learn more and discover new ways to take advantage of what Service-Learning has to offer.
