Welcome to the Department of Family Development
As faculty members of the University of Wisconsin-Extension, our
knowledge, research, and expertise are critical to meeting the educational
needs of the residents of Wisconsin. We work with seventy plus Family
Development peers and 300 Cooperative Extension peers as an integral
part of a dedicated team. We are professional educators who embody
the century-old traditions of UW educational excellence and the Wisconsin
Idea.
The Primary purposes of the Department of Family Development is:
- To maintain an effective faculty who meet the professional
standards of the University of Wisconsin System and who have
strong command of the discipline in order to serve as educational
leaders in the community.
- To evaluate and recommend faculty for review, promotion and tenure in
accordance with criteria of the University of Wisconsin-Extension and the
Department of Family Development.
- To encourage faculty to initiate, design, conduct, publish, and interpret
basic and applied research relative to meeting the educational needs of individuals
and groups in solving or preventing family and community problems, locally,
nationally, and internationally.
These web pages are designed to assist members of the Department
of Family Development in their professional growth as faculty members
within UW-Extension. These pages are evolving, ideas for improvement
should be directed to me.
