Title Change for Program Managers or Directors
Q. How do I know when I’m eligible
for a title review if I am a Program Manager or Director?
A. You may be eligible for a change in your Program Manager or Director title if there
has been a significant change in your program size and/or complexity since you
started in your position.
Q. Who initiates the title review process?
A. You initiate it by submitting a request for a title
review to the Cooperative Extension Human Resources Office. For details
contact its director, Sharon Klawitter, at sharon.klawitter@ces.uwex.edu or
608-265-3372.
Q. When can I submit a title review request?
A. You can submit a request any time of the year.
Q. Who will review my title review request?
A. The UW-Extension Human Resources Office will evaluate
the position using a UW-System Category A Unclassified Staff title evaluation
rating system to determine the level to be assigned to the position.
Q. Can I appeal the decision if my title review
request is not approved?
A. Yes, you can appeal the decision to the Academic Staff Hearings
Committee, a group of six members elected from the academic staff at
large to hear appeals, complaints, and grievances of academic staff.
This committee will forward a recommendation to the Chancellor, who then
decides. The Chancellor’s decision is final.
