A little bit of history...
The Wisconsin Alpha Sigma Chapter was organized on October 7,
1930 with 35 members. In his 1935 book "Wisconsin History
of Agricultural Extension", local historian Ernest L. Luther
stated that "The purpose of the
organization was to maintain the traditions, uphold the ideals,
stimulate the morale of cooperative extension service, and to
promote fraternal spirit among its members." more...
“A picture is
worth a thousand words.” We cannot begin to express our
sincere thanks to the 150+ donors to the Professional Development
Endowment Fund. In a brief ceremony on April 10, outside the Gale
VandeBerg Auditorium, at The
Pyle Center, colleagues gathered with excitement for the unveiling
of Sanford Werfel’s beautiful original artwork, “The
Evergreens”.
There is lots of room for more names on the sculpture...well,
you need to see it to believe it. If you haven’t already
made a donation or pledge, maybe you will be inspired to do so
after viewing this magnificent sculpture.
